  • Interior Main Fireplace Masonry Type/Color

    If on blueprints, interior masonry on the main fireplace truly highlights a fire! All masonry applications will have matching caps and the grout will match the color of the cultured stone. If the masonry material is on a flat wall, there will be an exposed cut where the masonry ends and that section will be grouted into the sheetrock. For a fireplace that is "pulled out" from the main wall, the masonry material will be cut at a 45 degree angle and returned to the main wall. Unless the masonry material goes to the ceiling, the top of the masonry marterial will have a grouted stop. Placement: Unless there is a specific change order changing the placement of the fireplace, the fireplace will be installed 12" above the floor level and the selected mantle will be positioned 12" above the top of the fireplace (firecode). The flooring will stop at the firelplace wall.

    If on blueprints, the secondary fireplace will have tile surround versus masonry. The selected tile will have matching grout. The tile surround is 6x6 and will have stainless "Schluter" edge metal around the perimiter of the tile. To change the location and fireplace design, please create a change order for the new design with the home builder.

  • Interior Wall and Ceiling Color (to be the same)

    The walls and ceilings will be sprayed the same color. There's often confusion as to why it cost so much to change the color(s) of ceilings versus the wall color. For new construction, the painters will spray the house in one color prior to trim, cabinets, tile, etc installation. To change a ceiling to a new color, the painters must go back to that room and tape off and hand-cut the new ceiling color then back roll the remainder after the first spray (another trip to come back is required).
